Hi there guys, here we go once again with a product review.

This story started some 12-months ago at the Koroit Truck Show when I first came across the Southern Cross Trailer & Equipment Group (SCTEG) Wash & Shine.

Thanks to a very generous man by the name of Laurie Williams I was donated a 20ltr drum of the Wash & Shine.

If you ever get the chance to talk to this gentleman at the many charity events that he attends, he is a great character to get to know.

Like most of us, I’ve used a number of different types and brands of truck wash so at the time I didn’t think much about it.

It went straight into the garage with the other containers of truck wash that I had.

A couple of months later the Wash & Shine came up for use and this is where my “Testing Times” begin.

The Wash & Shine has good break down ratio providing a good amount of coverage.

By that I mean using 50ml of truck wash in 4 litres of water gives enough wash to do the whole prime mover and the wheels on the B-double and using the 1L foam gun to do the tautliners (curtain sided trailers).

After a couple of washes I really started to notice that my tautliners were getting easier to wash and in between washes more of the road grime and road spray from when we’ve gotten rained on were easier to just wash off.

I started to use it once a fortnight on my truck and trailers and it proved to be a great improvement for the trailers. I found that the prime-mover the difference was not as noticeable, but that may be due to the fact that it gets a little bit more attention than my trailers.

So why do I think this is one of the better wash and wax products that I’ve used on my tautliners?

The product showed a constant level of results that l was continually impressed with and have had no problems with it at all on my equipment.

I am really pleased with the results. On that same note I have talked to a guy that has used it on his tippers and had a problem with it leaving streak marks on the aluminium bodies, so although I find it a great asset on my tautliners make sure you check the product out for yourself and make sure it works for what you need to use it for.

On a footnote this year I won a 20ltr drum for myself so that should get me through to the next Koroit Truck Show so come on down to Koroit and see if you can win one for yourself.
