Lowood Truck Show 2018 — supporting Drought Angels

The weatherman got it so wrong on the weekend of August 25th, the rain stopped the night before and was just enough to suppress the dust for Saturday’s Lowood Truck Show.

With the sun out Rob Liston and the team of volunteers pulled off an exceptional show.

The addition of a burnout pad combined with a convoy, entertainment and general good vibes puts it at one of my favourite Queensland trucking events.

“It was an awesome day today,” says organiser Rob Liston.

“We got 173 trucks and it is our biggest turnout yet,” he tells ACT.

He says the Show raised over $15k for a group called Drought Angels.

The charity of choice this year gives back to the farmers.

With this much support Rob is confident next year’s show will be even bigger.

“This year we have had a lot more interest from the bigger companies, Iveco are on board for next year again and they want to bring more gear out and do a bit more for us, Western Star have also jumped on board, so the bigger companies are seeing the light to come out to the country truck shows,” he says.

The show keeps growing and growing so it will be a much bigger event next year.
