Castlemaine Truck Show 2017 — community and custom trucks
Rear Vision
ACT visits Castlemaine’s Rotary-run truck show, where the restored 1975 SAR featured on Issue 15’s cover took Truck of the Show.

Once again the Castlemaine Truck Show has proven itself to be one of Victoria’s strongest shows. The event helps the local community and is run by the Rotary Club of Castlemaine.
This year’s winner of Truck of the Show is the stunning truck that is on the cover of this issue of Australian Custom Trucks magazine.

It is always a risk when you compare a just restored show truck to an everyday working truck for the mantle of truck of the show, however there is no denying that the 1975 SAR looks pretty bloody good. We took a few happy snaps but one problem with any outdoor show is the weather. Castlemaine seemed to have a fair few trucks this year however general crowd numbers seemed a little lower. I am sure 2018 will bring the crowds back to one of Australia’s most beloved shows. The Castlemaine Rotary Truck Show 2018 will be on the 24th–25th November.
