Alexandra Truck Ute & Rod Show doesn’t disappoint. This year we spent the Saturday and Sunday in town. On Saturday they put on a special service to honour the new additions to the Victorian Truck Drivers’ Memorial. This year they included a convoy from [the starting point is missing in the printed report]. Then it was off to watch the local footy league as the afternoon sun warmed the place and the fog lifted. We spent a few hours supporting the local pub, and meeting a lot of truckies in town. Later on we attended the all too important corporate night.

We got up nice and early on Sunday to beat the crowds of suppliers to set up with our good mates from Samios Tyres and the Haulin’ Apparel.

The day just got better, it was cold and foggy, but that’s just what you expect in Alexandra. The show attracted 200 trucks, 80 utes and 30 hot rods. The racing trucks were definitely a crowd favourite. One job I don’t envy at Alexandra is judging the quality trucks that come from all over Victoria, and the rest of Australia. This year a Kenworth Legend T900 belonging to Moloney’s Transport won the coveted title of truck of the show. We also got to talk to a few people doing a few very special things including show sponsor David Larsen, who is involved in a special charity raffle with a brand new Western Star and Grug, who is developing a new product set to take the trucking market by storm, new hand made air-horn chains. Can’t wait till next year for the next Alexandra Truck, Ute & Rod Show, so we can do it all again!
