Get more from your ACT listing

Your listing should help a customer answer three questions: What do you do? Can you help me? How do I contact you?

You supply the details and images. ACT reviews the updates, and your approved content fills the listing layout for you.

1. Start with the basics

Find your business in the ACT directory, open its profile and select Claim or update this listing. Check the business name, phone, email, location and website details.

No website? You can still have a listing. Use a phone number or email customers can reach. A Gmail or other personal email address is fine; ACT may ask for more information to confirm you represent the business.

If your business is missing, use Add your business from the directory.

2. Explain what you do and who you help

For “What does your business do, and who do you service?”, write one or two short paragraphs. Include:

  • Your main work or specialist capability.
  • The customers or industries you serve.
  • Where you work, deliver or provide support.
  • A useful detail that helps someone choose you.

Example — fictional supplier:

We build and repair steel and aluminium tipper bodies for owner-drivers, fleets and civil contractors across South East Queensland. Our workshop also handles body modifications and replacement components. Contact us to discuss your truck, application and timeframe.

Plain, specific information is more useful than a long list of claims such as “best quality” or “great service”.

3. List your products, brands or services

For “What products do you sell or brands do you supply?”, name the things customers would ask you for. A service business can list services instead of products or brands.

Example: Tipper bodies; body repairs; hydraulic components; tailgate repairs; truck-body modifications.

Only name brands you genuinely supply or work with. Keep current stock, availability and quotes for your direct conversation with the customer.

4. Make your Enhanced or Featured images count

These plans support one logo and up to five gallery images.

Choose a mix that shows your business: a finished job or main product, a useful detail, your team or workshop, and another example of your work. A service business can use project photography, a website example or a portfolio graphic.

  • Use JPG/JPEG, PNG or WebP, no larger than 5 MB per image.
  • Choose clear images that still make sense on a phone screen. Keep any text in graphics large and brief.
  • Use a clean logo with room around it. Upload it in the logo field, separate from the five gallery photos.
  • Supply only images you own or have permission to use, and confirm the media-rights consent.
  • Check the selected-image previews and remove unwanted files before submitting.

Updating your gallery? A newly approved gallery replaces the previous set. Include every photo you want in the replacement gallery, up to five. Leave the gallery upload blank to keep your existing approved images.

5. Add social links customers can use

Paste the full profile link into its labelled box, including https://. Use your business profile, rather than a social-media home page or a temporary link.

Every social field is optional. Blank fields keep existing approved links. If you want a link or other approved content removed, explain that in Other corrections or requests.

6. Submit and wait for confirmation

Keep the page open while the request submits, especially when sending images. Wait for the confirmation message before closing it. If a validation message appears, follow the instructions on the form.

ACT reviews claims and content updates. Payment does not automatically approve submitted content. Your existing approved listing stays in place while updates await review. Paid features display with an eligible active plan.

After setup, use Supplier account to manage your listing and billing. Update your information whenever your services, contact details or business change.

7. Customer visits and directions (optional)

If customers can visit your workshop, showroom or yard, open Customer visits and directions and choose Add or update a public street address. Include your unit, street, suburb, state and postcode. After ACT approval, your address appears with a Get directions link to Google Maps. This is available with Free, Enhanced and Featured listings.

Online-only or mobile business? Leave this section alone. Your service area stays separate and can still tell people where you work. Choose Keep current setting to leave an approved address unchanged, or Remove to request its removal. Only provide an address you are happy to make public.

How search placement works

Among suppliers matching the search and filters, Featured listings appear first, followed by Enhanced, then Free listings. Featured positions rotate. If no Featured supplier matches, Enhanced suppliers lead the results.

Before you submit

  • ☐ My phone and email are correct.
  • ☐ I have explained what we do, who we help and where we work.
  • ☐ My products, brands or services are accurate.
  • ☐ My logo and up to five photos are clear, within the limits and permitted for use.
  • ☐ My website and social links open the right pages.
  • ☐ Any removal requests are explained in Corrections.

You do not need to design a page. ACT’s standard listing layout presents your approved information for you.
