Tata Motors and Iveco begin new chapter as combined commercial vehicle group
Story · November 4, 2026
Tata Motors and Iveco Group have begun operating together following the completion of the initial settlement of Tata’s takeover of the European commercial-vehicle manufacturer.
The companies announced the new phase on 3 November, describing a business with a presence in more than 130 countries, 27 manufacturing sites and approximately 9,300 sales and service centres.
Following the initial tender-offer settlement on 30 October, Tata’s offer vehicle held approximately 89.42 per cent of Iveco Group’s common share capital, excluding treasury shares.
For Australian Iveco customers and dealers, the immediate message is continuity. The companies say existing customer contracts, dealer and supplier relationships, warranties, aftermarket commitments and captive-finance arrangements continue unchanged.
Iveco Group will remain headquartered in Turin, Italy, with its brands and industrial operations retaining distinct identities.
The companies see longer-term opportunities in engineering, technology and distribution. They have not announced specific changes to the Australian Iveco range or dealer network as part of the 3 November announcement.
