Rear Vision
ACT’s original report records more than 200 trucks and over $40,000 raised for Country Hope.
Report and images supplied to ACT by Donna Campbell. The retained report does not name the individual photographers.
Our thanks to Donna Campbell for putting together a report and providing Australian Custom Trucks with photos of the Albury/Wodonga Country Hope Convoy for Kids.
Donna reports it was a lovely sunny Sunday on September 30th. Perfect for a drive and a family day out.
The convoy started at the local BP making its way through Wodonga before arriving at the Albury Showgrounds for a day of family fun, market stalls and entertainment including wood chopping, farm animals and live music.

They also had helicopter rides, motorbikes as well as a car display. To start off though the lead truck needed to be determined. This was done by auction on the morning of the convoy, at 9:30am. The auction was won by Dawson’s Transport with a winning bid of $6,000.
The top three trucks raised $10,000 for the Country Hope charity, which supports children with cancer in the region.
In total the convoy raised in excess of $40,000 for the charity helped by the attendance of over 200 trucks from the region coming from places including Wodonga, Albury, Holbrook, Barnawartha, Corowa, Wollongong and Kilmore.

The awards were popular with the judges working hard to ensure all the trucks were judged for the different categories.
Best presented historic truck was a Diamond T owned by Steve Corstorphan. The oldest working truck belonged to Troy Harris from Anthony Ryan Transport. The best presented fleet went to Churchill Transport. The people’s choice award went to Cory Bell from McGory’s Transport and the top three trucks on the day were:
- Jeff McKane of Paul O’Sullivan Transport with a Kenworth.
- Jay Savage from B & K Transport with a Mack.
- Mark Ortlipp of Duke Transport with a Mack.
