To celebrate 90 years of truck manufacturing globally Kenworth released the limited edition Director Series.

R&K Bulk haulage are one of Australia’s largest grain and bulk carters. Originally the company purchased two of the Director Series Kenworths to join their expanding fleet.

These two are now busy running Adelaide to Darwin with either triple or quad road trains loaded with export feed pellets.

Night Lights Custom Stainless in Toowoomba is responsible for all the added customisation on both trucks.

In this edition of ACT is the country-themed Green Director. Ryan added mirror lights, three additional Lights under red dot, a stainless steel grill cover, five additional sleeper lights, a 13 inch straight cut drop visor, top and side bug deflectors, a custom one piece stainless wing trim with lights, stainless steel strap wraps, tank trims with lights, bottom blanking trims, stainless steel door kickers, their very own stainless steel grill bars coupled with stainless grill mesh, Custom Headlight Surrounds and Poly Carbonate Protective Covers, Custom light boxes fitted to exhaust shrouds to illuminate the Director Series wording, 7" Bull Horner Stacks, just to name a few things. They illuminated the truck with Amber lights. Red LED strip lighting under cabin doors and Sleeper Cab rails.

The black Director was extremely similar except Night Lights used white lights instead of Amber to add a touch of class against the black paint work. They changed the stacks to 7" Never Blu American Curve pipes. Plastic Chrome Door handle inserts, driver and passenger external drop down window trims, seven additional roof lights to the sleeper bunk roof and they added chrome gauge covers to all gauges in the dash.

All in all Night Lights Custom Stainless did a stunning job finishing these trucks off.

The main feature of these two stand out however is obviously the paintwork.

Russel from R&K had a very basic idea when he sent them into PJs custom spray painting in Brisbane.

“I wanted one with a country theme and one with maybe horses,” he says he told PJs.
