DP World has appointed Jason Varsamidis as chief executive officer and managing director of its Asia Pacific business, effective 15 October 2026.

The appointment puts Varsamidis in charge of DP World’s ports, terminals and logistics businesses across 22 geographies in the region, employing more than 12,000 people.
He has worked with DP World and predecessor P&O Ports since 1997, most recently serving as chief financial officer of DP World Asia Pacific from 2020. Before that, he held the Australian CFO position for seven years.
The company says Varsamidis has worked across regional strategy, investment, acquisitions, infrastructure projects and business improvement. His new brief includes operational performance, end-to-end supply chains and development of integrated logistics services.
DP World Group CEO Yuvraj Narayan described the appointment as providing continuity as the company builds its Asia Pacific operations.
In a statement accompanying the announcement, Varsamidis said he would work with the regional leadership team to support customers and partners and advance DP World’s strategic priorities.
DP World says an announcement about the regional CFO succession will follow separately.
