Scania Super 11-powered front-lift waste collection truck demonstrator with Superior Pak body

Scania Australia will display its Super 11-powered front-lift waste truck demonstrator at Waste Expo Australia in Melbourne on 28–29 October 2026.

The demonstrator uses a front-lift body commissioned from Australian manufacturer Superior Pak and has been touring Australia as part of Scania’s Super 11 roadshow.

Scania introduced the new five-cylinder Super 11 engine range with three power outputs: 350hp, 390hp and 430hp. The company claims fuel consumption is seven per cent lower than its previous nine-litre five-cylinder engine and says the range is paired with a new 14-speed gearbox.

Scania lists torque outputs of 1,800Nm, 2,000Nm and 2,200Nm respectively. It also claims maintenance intervals up to 30 per cent longer than its previous nine-litre engines and a designed working life 25 per cent longer, depending on application.

Scania Australia director of truck sales Benjamin Nye said the powertrain was aimed at waste operators seeking lower fuel use and improved payload.

The company says the front-lift’s air suspension allows the chassis to be raised for ground clearance or lowered for bin collection in confined locations. Scania expects the 350hp and 390hp variants to be of particular interest for rigid front-lift applications.

The truck will be on display at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre during Waste Expo Australia on 28 and 29 October.

Scania detailed the demonstrator in its 10 August 2026 product announcement. Fuel, service-life and payload claims are manufacturer statements, not independent test results.
